Digital Identity

Your Digital Identity

Your Digital ID (also known as a DID) is a member-controlled identity you create and hold on your own device. It's built from verifiable credentials and relationships you accumulate over time, rather than a single document issued by one central authority.

How Digital Identification Works

Your Digital ID is created and held on your own device. Trusted issuers can attach verifiable credentials to it, and you choose what to share and with whom, each time a participating service asks. Digital ID (or ClearID) is also referred to as a Decentralized Identifier, or DID.

Key Benefits

Why A Digital Identification

Three principles that guide how Digital Identification works.

Privacy

Navigate both the physical and digital world with privacy-centric identification, sharing only what you choose to share.

Control

You decide what personal information to share, with whom, and when - for each service you use.

Verifiable credentials make it possible for a service to check that an identity or credential is genuine before relying on it.
