The Names And Marks

"Digital World," the Digital World logo, and related names such as "LIFE App" and "Digital Life" are used to identify the Digital World network, its reference implementations, and its founding providers. Individual product and provider names (for example those listed on Digital Providers) belong to their respective owners.

Permitted Use

Referring to Digital World by name, or linking to this website, to describe genuine interoperability, participation, or commentary is permitted. This does not extend to implying endorsement, partnership, or official status that doesn't exist.

What Requires Permission

  • Using the Digital World logo or wordmark in your own product branding.
  • Naming a product or service so that it could be confused with an official Digital World reference implementation.
  • Any use that implies certification, endorsement, or affiliation that hasn't been agreed to.

Open-Source Code vs. Branding

Open-source repositories published under the network's standards may be freely used and modified under their published licenses (see Open-Source Licensing), but this permission covers the code - it does not separately grant rights to the Digital World name or logo.
