What does "self-custodial" mean for my Digital Wallet?

It means you hold your own private keys instead of a bank or third party holding them for you. No bank or third party can access or restrict your funds without your keys, but this also means you are responsible for keeping your keys and recovery information safe.

What happens if I lose my private keys or recovery phrase?

Because Digital Wallet is self-custodial, Digital World cannot recover access on your behalf. If your keys and recovery information are lost, access to the associated funds may be permanently lost, so back up your recovery information and store it securely.

Is money held in Digital Wallet insured like a bank deposit?

No. Digital Wallet is not a bank account, and funds held in it are not covered by government deposit insurance such as FDIC or an equivalent scheme in your country.

Which currencies and assets can I convert in Digital Wallet?

Digital Wallet supports conversions between supported fiat currencies, digital assets, and cryptocurrencies. Available currencies and assets can change over time, so check the app for the current list.

Can Digital World access or freeze my funds?

Because you hold your own keys, Digital World does not have the ability to access, freeze, or reverse transactions from your wallet on its own. This control is part of what makes safeguarding your keys your responsibility.
